Fairfield Island, bordered on the south by the Hope River and to the far north by the Fraser, is a choice neighbourhood for families looking for quiet, affordable, residential living. Consisting primarily of homes built in the 1970’s and 80’s Fairfield island offers larger lots ideal for backyard gardening and and active family pastimes.
Classic ranchers with full basements and family oriented split entry homes are predominant and have been generally well maintained and in many cases modernized in recent years.
The area is dotted with some newer homes on infill lots and two newer streets, Merrit Drive and Bell Road offer some lovely higher end properties.
With just two access points, Young Road to the west side and Menzies Street bridge on the east end, this area attracts mostly local traffic.
Hope River Road, which runs along south perimeter, also provides access to the Chartwell Drive and Grandview Ridge neighbourhoods on the north side of Little Mountain as well as to the picturesque rural areas including McSween, Kitchen Hall and Ballum Roads where larger agricultural properties prevail.
Fairfeld Island is also home to Minter Country Gardens, a large retail nursery owned by the well-known Brian Minter family, as well as Island 22, a popular spot for fishing, camping and equestrian activities.
