- Established residential area
- Primarily single family, larger lots
- Hospital, Leisure and Recreation facilities
Residents of the Downtown Westside describe their neighbourhood as ” convenient to absolutely everything”. Still just a short drive or for some even a relatively short walk to the downtown shopping areas, this choice residential area was developed primarily in the 60′s and 70′s.
Home choices include some real classic full basement rancher, bi-level and custom built split level homes, mostly on larger lots and many with mature trees and landscaping.
At its centre is Chilliwack’s main amenities complex and residents here enjoy easy walking access to the Prospera Centre, The Landing Leisure Centre, Townsend Park, Exhibition Stadium and the soon to be completed new Arts and Cultural Centre.
On the eastern side is the Chilliwack Hospital and adjacent to it a newly developed area offering upscale condos and townhomes. To the west, Rainbow Estates, a popular modular home park for senior residents and two older but nicely updated townhouse complexes offering affordable family housing options.
Commutors travelling west from this neighbourhood can avoid in town traffic by taking Wolfe Rd and Chilliack Mtn Rd to the Lickman Rd interchange.

- Residential area in the southwest area of Sardis
- Single family, larger lots, fenced yards, cul-de sacs
- Twin Rinks, Watson Park,Rotary trails
Bordered on the north by Watson road and with Keith Wilson as its southern boundary the Watson Glen/ Shaugnesy Park area of Sardis is a large family-oriented group of established neighbourhoods. Developed in the late 80′s and into the 1990′s this area is marked by numberous cul-de-sacs and full sized fenced lots making it ideal for young and growing families. Reasonably priced two storey, basement entry, and one level rancher homes are mixed throughout the area resulting in a pleasant assortment of families, empty nesters and retirees on most streets. Known as “very neighbourly” this quiet residential area has little commercial activity, just a couple of corner stores and is considered a very safe and friendly neighbourhood with many folks out walking and children out playing on the cul de sacs on summer evenings. New development on Monte Vista Drive and on Gilliwan Ave in 2000 added a lovely more modern group of homes to the area and in the late 1990′s a new subdivision, Petersburg, offering high end custom built homes was developed. Located directly across from Unsworth Elementary, homes in the sought after neighbourhood of Petersburg have commanded a premium price.

- Executive homes on larger lots
- Incredible Views
- Easy access to Freeway and downtown amenities
Offering primarily executive style homes on larger lots, the Little Mountain neighbourhood is a favourite for those seeking unique homes and outstanding views of the mountians and expanse of agricultural valley below.
Developed initially in the 1970′s on the south side with further development in the 90′s on the north side, these custom built homes are designed to take advantage of both the views and the contours of the hillside lots.
Accessed from Yale Rd via either Mountview or Kenswood Rds, this hillside neighbourhood offers a natural setting with mature trees and walking trails yet is conveniently located for the busy family, just minutes to downtown and only five minutes to the freeway via the Prest Road interchange.
More recent development on the North side, including the adult-oriented community of Grandview Ridge is accessed via Hope Rive Road on Fairfield Island. New building lots in this area are expected to be available in the next couple of years.
